Our Mission

Footwork And Sole Dance Company (FASDC) strives to significantly improve the education of adolescent and adult dancers through socially-conscious classes, courses, and choreography. We maintain three branches of education including our dance company, the codified Dance Conditioning program, and various professional development  courses. All programming is designed to be safe, fun-filled, and academically sound.

FADSC was founded in 2016 by veteran and Connecticut native Latoya N. Walker. During her collegiate studies, Latoya sustained a knee injury that became the catalyst for FASDC’s Dance Conditioning program. This program emerged from her frustration with the lack of athletic training made accessible, safe, and tailored to dancers. Latoya’s intersecting identities further enabled her to cultivate classes for dance to exist as more than entertainment – but as a sociological and therapeutic resource – which is exemplified in our interactive dance history courses and commissioned choreography.

Footwork And Sole Dance Company has traveled and served communities throughout and outside of Connecticut. Our collaborations include Full Expression! Dance Collective in Colorado, Canyon Concert Ballet in Colorado, Colorado State University, HartBeat Ensemble, Arts for Learning CT, and ConnectiKids.
